mania’s managing director François Melchior de Polignac, is to exit the company, with no replacement for the 40-year-old announced as of yet.
Having joined Carrefour Group in 2003, Polignac, who was appointed as managing director in May 2011, brought about several major transformations at Carrefour's Romanian operations, including the introduction of e-commerce and the launch of the Carrefour Discount economy line in the region. He also oversaw the doubling of the retailer's store network in Romania.
Polignac began his career as a financial controller at L'Oreal, where he worked in consulting.
