Nielsen-Massey has tripled the size of its manufacturing plant in Leeuwarden. Nielsen-Massey, a vanilla and flavor producer, has had annual double-digit production growth, which brought about the need for expansion.
The expansion includes dedicated areas for production, packaging and warehousing, and an automated processing system. The plant now has four times more office space. Builder Jorritsma Bouw West B.V. renovated the facility through a budget of almost €3 million ($4 million), which was financed through Deutsche Bank Nederland N.V.
“We are thrilled about the many opportunities this new plant offers us,” said Matt Nielsen, managing director for Nielsen-Massey Vanillas International B.V. “Our increased production capabilities will enable us to keep up with growth, enter new markets and keep more product on-hand and warehoused to effectively meet our customers’ needs.”
The Leeuwarden expansion follows an expansion of the company’s headquarters in Waukegan, Ill., that was completed in January 2012.
