CKF, a Canada-based food packaging company, has acquired Vancouver-based Earthcycle Packaging, which caters to the agriculture and produce industries, for an undisclosed amount.
Established in 2005, Earthcycle has been awarded and recognized among peers for its development of innovative packaging made from palm fiber, a renewable resource formerly considered an agricultural waste. The company's food packaging products are certified compostable, recyclable and renewable.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen CKF's product portfolio, as well as provide opportunities to access new markets, with an expanded portfolio of sustainable packaging products.
CKF has appointed Shannon Boase as New Market Development director to oversee the brand vision of Earthcycle.
CKF president Ian Anderson said, "The acquisition perfectly fits CKF Inc.'s vision and plan for growth. We're looking forward to providing a new line of products to our current customers as well as servicing new customers and markets."
"The addition of the Earthcycle brand and the skills and expertise of Shannon Boase enhances CKF's foundation for growth in the ever expanding sustainable packaging market," Anderson added.
