Naturally Splendid has signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Calico Food Ingredients to test plant-based Omega products, H2Omega and HempOmega, developed by Boreal Technologies.
HempOmega and H2Omega are patent pending, powder and aqueous Omega products that make use of nano-encapsulation for increased nutritional benefits and these have been developed to provide sustained release of Omega oils into the bloodstream over existing Omega oil products.
In September, Calico will commence tests and evaluations on H2Omega and HempOmega to determine the use of these ingredients with its nutritional pre-mixes and margarine pre-mix food ingredients.
Calico offers a wide range of vitamins and minerals to the food and nutritional markets. The company believes there is an excellent opportunity to offer advantages of H2Omega and HempOmega to its customers seeking for an alternative Omega source.
