Research from the University of Cagliari has shown the positive role Betapol has in infant brain development. Betapol, an ingredient in infant formula, was developed by IOI Loders Croklaan to mimic the fat composition and structure of human milk.
Focusing on the fatty acid distribution in the role of infant nutrition, the research found the ingredient has a positive physiological effect on brain function and physical development versus standard vegetable oils used in infant formula.

Some of the findings were presented by professor Sebastiano Banni at the 20th International Congress of Nutrition in Granada. Banni, from the University of Cagliari, works in the department of Biomedical Sciences and presented the findings to a conference attended by almost 4000 nutrition experts.
