Grupo Jáuregui is a Mexican producer and trader of regional fruit and vegetables, particularly nopal, pineapple, celery, grapefruit and parsley, which undergo a cleaning, disinfecting and cutting process after which they are frozen and distributed in portions; a product mainly for making smoothies. Eduardo Jáuregui, founder of the company, explains that, "we do not produce dried fruit because we wish to offer consumers the closest possible experience to that of fresh products."
The firm distributes around 30,000, 2.4 kilo bags of processed fruit and vegetables per month, which it grows on around 100 hectares. It sells its products under the brand Hellen Queen, which is already present in Mexico, and it is planning to enter the US market, where the first contacts are already being established.
The processing capacity of the company's plant, which is working to obtain the SQF certification, is currently at around 70%, so there is still plenty of potential for growth. According to Eduardo, "the future of the business will revolve around exports, because it is a product with plenty of qualities which we would love to promote overseas." The firm is especially interested in American and European countries for its expansion and promotion plans.
Grupo Jáuregui will attend the coming edition of the PMA fair, to take place in New Orleans between 18 and 20 October.
