Four new Coop food stores are to open in Sweden this week. 'Coop Örebro Baron', 'Coop Sundbypark', 'Coop Fairs' and 'Coop Örkelljunga' will all officially open their doors for the very first time.
In Sundbyberg the old Coop Extra Hallonbergen has closed to make way for the newer Sundbypark location. 'Coop Near Fairfield' has also closed its doors, making way for this weeks openning of the more modern 'Coop Fairs' store.
Coop Örkelljunga, will re-open after having undergone extensive renovation both inside and out.
"In dialogue with our customers and members, we have developed four new stores that contains the selection and service that is in demand, and fresh produce and manual counters are in focus at all stores.
"Based on Coop's sustainability efforts also have large investments in state of the art refrigeration plants, which reduces energy consumption by 50%," said Johnny Capor, Acting President of Coop Stores & Supermarkets AB.
Coop in Switzerland today released the results of a survey about "flexitarians" to coincide with World Vegitarian Day. It found that 40% of it's customers in Switzerland consider themselves to be "flexitarians", or part time vegetarians. Only 2% of their customers consider themselves 'pure vegetarians".
