Although foreign imported milk powders are popular in Chinese market, Meiji Dairies sales continued downturn in China, affected by the Japanese Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident and deteriorating Sino-Japanese relations.
Meiji Dairies relevant person in charge confirmed in the Asahi Shimbun interview that due to the intense competition in Chinese milk powder market, it is difficult to obtain a stable income. So Meiji Dairies will withdraw from the Chinese milk market after the inventory is sold out.
