The Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC) has announced the appointment of David Lonsdale as its new director, replacing Fiona Moriarty.

The SRC said David’s brief is to build on the strong position the SRC holds in Scotland and lead the implementation of BRC strategy across all the devolved nations. He is currently assistant director at CBI Scotland and has been in this role for eight years.

British Retail Consortium director general Helen Dickinson said: “Fiona has worked tirelessly for the SRC and our members in Scotland and we are grateful for her enormous contribution and commitment to our success in Scotland. “We wish Fiona all the best as she embarks on her new endeavours and at the same time we very much look forward to David picking up the baton and joining the retail sector.”

David Lonsdale said: “I am very pleased to take on this key role at the SRC representing such an economically important and dynamic sector at what is a critical time in politics for Scotland, and look forward to maximising the effectiveness of the BRC’s work across the devolved nations.”
