With top quality nylon roasting bags and a machine for bagging 40 chickens a minute, Sirane can offer a complete packaging solution for the poultry production market.

Cooking poultry in a bag can reduce cooking times significantly, stops the meat drying out and crisps the bird beautifully – and is a great added value solution for retailers.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Sirane’s sales director for food packaging, said: “Packaging chickens in nylon roasting bags is a great way to add value to the retail product. Nylon is the best material on the market for roasting bags, and this is a top-quality packaging solution.

“Using a nylon roasting bag, the meat stays succulent in the bag, along with all the flavours. Extra ingredients, such as herbs, sauces and spices, can easily be added to the bag.

“The bags are strong and robust – they won’t go brittle during cooking like many roasting bags – and simply need to be pierced on the top by the customer before cooking.

“Sirane’s engineers have built a machine specifically to bag chickens using these bags – which is great news for anyone looking for a packaging solution for roast chickens.”

Sira-CookTM PA is a unique packaging solution for meat, fish and poultry which allows food to be packed, shipped, retailed and cooked in the same package. The nylon material absorbs the fat released during cooking, ensuring crisp, clean food.

Bags can be used for chickens, turkeys and other large joints of meat including whole salmon. However, the machine has been created for bagging chickens.

Jeremy added: “Automating the process means it can be a complete packaging solution. The machine can bag 40 birds a minute, ready to be sealed or have additional ingredients added.

“The Sira-CookTM PA roasting bag can then be tied or heat-sealed ready for transportation in a bag that the customer can put straight into the oven and cook.”

The bags allow the food to be cooked in its own juices for added succulency. The food can be cooked without the need for a baking tray, and the oven remains clean.

Sirane is an innovative packaging design, development, manufacture and solutions company which specialises in areas including absorbency and ovenable/microwaveable products, compostable packaging, films, boards, pads, and much more.
