French supermarket Géant opens second supermarket in Abu Dhabi

Fucom has opened its second supermarket with retail space of 3,000 square metres in Abu Dhabi in Marina Square, Reem Island, under the ‘Géant’ franchise, on Thursday December 19. Fucom aims at opening more than 30 stores in the UAE, including the Géant Hypermarket in Yas Mall in 2014.

Fucom is the master franchisee in the region for French hypermarket chain Géant and the supermarket, which opened in Marina Square, within the Paragon Bay, becomes the latest addition to Géant’s portfolio of brands in the UAE, which includes Géant Hypermarkets and Géant Easy supermarkets and convenient stores, as well as Geant Online, the UAE’s first Internet-based hypermarket which opened in June this year.

Mohammed Ashfaq, Head of Business at Fucom, said: “The opening of the second Géant supermarket in Abu Dhabi reflects Fucom’s commitment to provide quality supermarket shopping experiences in the UAE capital.”
