1. Eat more foods that can nourish blood
Red dates have good blood enriching benefit. Eat five to eight red dates between meals.
2. Eat more foods that are rich in iron and calcium
Sufficient supply of iron and calcium can improve the body's ability to keep out the cold. Calcium-rich foods include milk, bean products, kelp, seaweed, shellfish, oysters, sardines, and shrimp. Iron-rich foods include animal blood, egg yolks, pork liver, soybeans, sesame seeds, black fungus, and red dates.

Most hot springs contain sulfur. TCM believes that sulfur is one of the best minerals nourishing Yang Qi in human body.
4. Do exercise half an hour every day
In winter, people can choose outdoor exercises like jogging, riding bicycle, and playing Taichiquan; or indoor exercises like setting-up exercise, table tennis, and bowling.
5. Drink more boiled water
The air is dry in winter. Drink more boiled water can ensure a sufficient water supply for the human body, and eliminate the waste from the body.
6. Regulate the spleen and stomach functions
In winter, you can choose a few spleen and stomach enriching foods that are warm in character, such as pumpkin, yam, Chinese wolfberry fruits, and glossy ganoderma.
7. Have hot foot bath
The hot foot bath is a very soothing and relaxing form of water therapy. Bathe feet in hot water can promote the body's meridian and blood circulation; thus improve the symptoms of cold hands and feet in winter.
8. Put an orange or a small bottle of peppermint oil near your bed
Orange is warm in character, its strong smell helps get rid of viruses. Eating an orange before bed can relieve cough and reduce sputum. The smell of peppermint oil has effects that cure headache and nasal congestion.
