Ingredion Incorporated, a leading global provider of ingredient solutions to diversified industries, recently announced the appointment of Tony DeLio to senior vice president and chief innovation officer effective 6 January 2014.
Reporting directly to Ingredion Chairman and CEO Ilene Gordon, DeLio will lead the Company’s global marketing, innovation and business development and will be an officer of the Company. Previously he was vice president of global innovation.
“Tony’s promotion to chief innovation officer reflects our increased emphasis on global innovation and marketing. We have a great opportunity to apply new perspectives and bring fresh approaches to our business challenges. I am confident in Tony’s ability to take Ingredion to the next level of product development and marketing,” said Gordon.
DeLio joined National Starch, now part of Ingredion, in 2006 as vice president and general manager, North America and subsequently served as vice president of global marketing and innovation. He has held a variety of executive positions in marketing, R&D and general management at Archer Daniels Midland Company and Mars, Inc. Additionally, DeLio served as associate vice chancellor for research at the University of Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
