TCL Packaging moves to bigger site as business booms

Core Tip: TCL Packaging, supplier of printed packaging films to converters and food manufacturers, is set to move to a larger premises this year following increased demand for its packaging films
The firm has TCL Packagingcontracted to a new manufacturing facility on Stafford Park Industrial estate in Telford, featuring 70,000 square feet of manufacturing area, with more than double the space of its current factory.

At the end of 2013, the company placed an order for a new Rofin laser scribing and perforating unit and is due to install an additional printing press at the new site.

The move is also expected to result in new jobs and apprenticeships in the region.

Mike Golding, TCL managing director, said: “The move to the new premises is part of a strategic plan for growth started back in 2010. Our investment in this project is over £2M and we are expecting to add new jobs and apprenticeships in Telford throughout 2014, growing our workforce steadily over the coming years.”

TCL has enjoyed year-on-year, double-digit sales growth for the last few years despite the economic recession.

The company has won an EFTA print award three times.
