Irish Food Group Greencore recorded revenue of €320.5 million during the 13 weeks to 27 December, up 7.2% on the same period in the previous year.
The company said that on a like for like basis, excluding the sale of its desserts business which was sold to Muller group, growth was 9%.
In an interim management statement issued in advance of its AGM in Dublin today, Greencore said that the growth of smaller format stores in the UK helped it achieve strong Q1 sales figures.
In the UK, like for like revenue was 7.2% higher than in the year previous.
The own-label manufacturer said that sales were up 26.2% in the US, after they started to supply Starbucks in April 2013.
"During the period, we invested in significant relaunch activity with several key customers, and we continue to develop a pipeline of future growth opportunities for FY15," the company said in a statement today.
The company also said it was on target to meet its revenue expectations.
