Bayer CropScience is reaffirming its commitment to bringing food chain partners closer together by helping them improve productivity and quality of fruit and vegetables in a sustainable manner. Building on its diverse global product portfolio and strong crop expertise, Bayer CropScience is building up trustful Food Chain Partnerships along the food value chain to the benefit of all partners involved.

At the Fruit Logistica trade show in Berlin, the company is currently showcasing its latest Food Chain Partnership projects with key partners around the globe. These collaborations build on integrated crop solutions – tailored to the individual needs of the partners involved. Three of the company’s projects are also the focus of a presentation that Bayer CropScience will host on February 6 at 3:30 p.m. at the Exhibitor Forum (“Großer Stern”, Madrid Room). Together with Pegasus Coop, Les Vergers Du Soleil and UNIVEG, Bayer CropScience will present best-practice examples in table grapes from Greece, Morocco and Brazil.

Ensuring that growers produce high-quality crops is the first step to successfully entering the fresh-food market place. “By forming Food Chain Partnerships, we foster closer links between growers, traders, processors and retailers and share our agronomic knowledge and value chain expertise,” said Silke Friebe, Head of Food Chain Management at Bayer CropScience. “Our core competencies lie in developing and supplying integrated crop solutions that are locally adapted and tailored to the individual needs of our customers. The common goal is to help drive a sustainable productivity increase and to improve crop quality.”

In its Food Chain Partnership projects, Bayer CropScience offers customized, integrated solutions based on high-quality vegetable seeds, effective chemical and biological crop protection as well as complementary services and know-how in environmental protection, efficiency and safety. These integrated crop solutions are backed by proactive stewardship measures in order to ensure product integrity, human protection and environmental preservation. Bayer CropScience’s global Food Chain Partnership approach involves about 240 projects in 30 countries spanning 40 crops, primarily fruit and vegetables. Bayer CropScience’s exhibition booth at the trade show is located at Hall 1.2, stand C-04.
