Wyke Farms, the UKWyke Farms’s largest independent cheese producer and milk processor, today reveals its new packaging design refresh which is present across its entire product range. The new design highlights the Wyke Farms’ brand values of provenance, traditional family farming, as well its commitment to sustainability.

The updated designs include two new logos that visually communicate the brands' USP's and individual “Clothier family stories” which are printed on the reverse of each pack. These stories, which are accompanied by a black and white historical family photograph, are unique to each product and give a glimpse of Wyke Farms’ family farming history and heritage, bringing the brand to life.

The Wyke Farms 100% Green logo represents Wyke’s commitment to manage its business in a way that has minimal impact on the Somerset environment and to create a truly symbiotic relationship with the countryside that provides its food, income and home.

The Wyke Farms' Somerset cow logo visually represents British, short supply chain, regionality and provenance, all of which are key drivers for purchase that shoppers are actively seeking out. The new packaging also incorporates a transparent front window to allow consumers to see the cheese inside, communicating Wyke’s brand values of honesty and integrity.

“More and more consumers are looking for brands that are local and traceable* and our new packaging helps highlight these values by communicating our provenance and our heritage of family farming here in Somerset.” said Rich Clothier, Managing Director and third generation family member at Wyke Farms. “Trust and transparency are even more important since the Horsegate scandal and we also wanted to communicate our brand values of honesty and integrity through our new design”

Wyke Farms worked with design agency Tynan D’arcy to produce the new pack designs, which are on shelf from April at Asda, Co-op, Makro, Sainsbury’s Tesco and Waitrose. The new pack designs can be viewed here.

Wyke Farms has been producing its award-winning cheddar for over a century and has grown to become the largest family-owned cheese maker in Britain selling over 14,000 tonnes annually. The company have achieved substantial growth year on year by staying true to the traditional values behind the brand and have become the fastest growing cheddar brand at a rate of 10% every year for the past five years.

Wyke Farms have 150 years of family farming experience. Wyke Farms’ cheese and butter is made with the milk from their cows grazing the lush pastures of the Mendip Hills in the centre of the Cheddar making region in Somerset.
