Food and beverage giant PepsiCo has extended its contract with logistics, and freight forwarding firm Norbert Dentressangle in Belgium until 2020.
Norbert Dentressangle was appointed by PepsiCo BeLux in 1998, for the storage and handling of food products for distribution to PepsiCo's customers throughout the region.
The firm operates a 18,550m² site in Veurne, adjacent to PepsiCo's Frito-Lay Smiths manufacturing facility, which manufactures crisps and other snack products.
The parties have invested in automated intake, storage and retrieval and outbound systems to support the high volume. The equipment is capable of handling 1,820 inbound and 1,560 outbound pallets per day.
In addition to Veurnesite, Norbert Dentressangle also handles product from PepsiCo's factories in the UK and Netherlands for distribution to the Belgian market.
The company is also engaged in value added activities, including assembly of display systems, re-labeling for promotions and co-packing.
Headquartered in Zaventem, near Brussels, PepsiCo operations in Belgium and Luxembourg include distribution of carbonated drinks and fruit juices, sports drinks, cold soups, chips, salted snacks, nuts, cereals and crackers under various well-known brands.
