Fresh cut processor Mangopack has selected SafetyChain Software, a Food Safety Chain Management Systems (FSCMS) provider, to automate its safety and quality assurance (FSQA) programs.

Using the SafetyChain for Food tool, the company will automate supplier compliance for its vendor programs, accumulate food safety and quality data electronically, and leverage real-time analysis of food safety and quality data.

Mangopack will also create a centralized database of FSQA data; support its compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), FDA and customer requirements as well as position itself to meet the FDA's Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA) standards.

Mangopack Compliance and Quality Control manager Lilia Rivera said, "FSQA data. SafetyChain for Food will help us not only monitor, verify and validate data, but also access a centralized repository of FSQA information -- spanning all of our programs, suppliers and more -- to help us more easily trend performance to continuously improve processes."

SafetyChain senior vice president and co-founder Barbara Levin said that because FSCMS automation provides food safety and quality efficiencies along all points in a company's value chain, it is being adopted in rapidly growing numbers.

"We applaud Mangopack's vision in leveraging the leading FSCMS, SafetyChain for Food, to create an industry-leading, automated FSQA platform, and we're very excited to welcome them to the SafetyChain customer community," Levin added.
