Core Tip: Italy-based Gruppo Francia has selected SuperLight pot from RPC Superfos for its private label ‘Cucina’ mozzarella cheese.
According to RPC SuperfosRPC, lighter packaging and reduced carbon footprint were priorities of German supermarket giant Aldi for a new pack.

With the new packaging, Gruppo Francia has reduced the packaging weight of Aldi's 'Cucina' by half.

Made of a single material, polypropylene, the recyclable SuperLight pot is claimed to have less than half the weight of its predecessor, which offers significant savings on packaging costs.

It can be decorated using in-mould labeling to deliver a high quality image.

Gruppo Francia owner Fabrizio Francia said that there were two major factors in favor of SuperLight- the opportunity to have the Cucina label displayed immaculately on the pot and the reduced amount of virgin polypropylene per unit.

"We have worked with RPC Superfos for many years and we know that we get quality and innovation. The SuperLight pot allows for substantial weight savings which leads to a more cost efficient packaging solution. Also the CO2 emissions connected to the packaging have decreased," Francia added.

The company specializes in mozzarella, and it operates three factories, including one in Germany.
