Kalsec has linked up with two new Channel Partners in Australia and New Zealand to help further its expansion in to the Asia-Pacific region. The global herb and spice expert has appointed Connell Brothers Company (CBC) as its new Channel Partner to help grow its ingredients business in Australian food market and Pacific Flavours & Ingredients as its partner in New Zealand.

“We believe Australia is a market with a lot of opportunity for the types of products Kalsec has to offer,” said Carol Toft, business manager for food, pharma, ingredients. “Kalsec has been doing business in the region for the past 30 years and we continue to see it as an excellent and exciting market. We see markets that offer a lot of opportunities for our ingredients all over South East Asia and do business now in each of them,” she told Food Ingredients First.

“There continues to be high interest in experiencing the unique tastes that come from the fusion of dishes from different cultures and we are able to offer these with our natural herb and spice extracts,” she said. “In addition, there is a high interest in natural alternatives to synthetic antioxidants, which we are able to offer through our Herbalox and Duralox line of rosemary-based antioxidants.”

CBC, the largest marketer and distributor of specialty chemicals and food ingredients in Asia-Pacific, has a team of food specialists and technologists across all states of Australia. The company also has significant logistics capabilities and a state-of-the-art food applications facility.

“CBC's customer relationships and vast experience in the food industry is an ideal complement to the Kalsec range of products,” said Paul Filby, executive vice president of global sales and international business for Kalsec.

Founded in 1895, Connell Brothers is a division of Wilbur-Ellis Company and is the largest marketer and distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients in Asia-Pacific with a keen focus on technical service, customer support, environmental awareness, health, and safety. Connell Brothers provides complete supply chain management from transportation, documentation, warehousing, and sales and distribution in 17 countries and in 37 offices located throughout Asia-Pacific.

Pacific Flavours is a key supplier to the meat, dairy, beverage and bakery processing sectors throughout New Zealand.

“Unsurpassed technical resources and excellent customer service make Pacific Flavours & Ingredients ideal for representing Kalsec in this region,” said Filby.

Founded in 2003, Pacific Flavours & Ingredients is located in Auckland, New Zealand.

Kalsec is the leading global producer of natural spice and herb flavor extracts, natural colors, natural antioxidants, and advanced hop products for the food and beverage industry. For more than 50 years, Kalsec has consistently delivered high-quality, innovative ingredient solutions that make products look better, taste better and last longer. Kalsec is headquartered in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with facilities in the United States, Europe and Asia.
