This move by the beer firm is part of its commitment to reduce environmental footprint, in addition to preserving the freshness and improving the taste of its beer.
Novelis president and chief executive officer Phil Martens said: "Working with Red Hare, we have developed a proven supply chain to deliver this industry-first offering to consumers, setting an example that other beverage companies are sure to follow."
The evercan aluminum sheet used for making cans contains 90% recycled content.
The company expects to roll out these new cans into store shelves across southeastern US beginning in May 2014.
Red Hare Brewing founder and CEO Roger Davis said that Novelis' evercan is a perfect fit for Red Hare.
"The independent certification of the closed-loop recycling process behind evercan strengthens our commitment to employing the best in sustainable business practices, making evercan a natural extension of the Red Hare brand," added Davis.
