ly dry gin still distilled in London, has unveiled a new exclusive edition gin as it opens the doors to Beefeater London: The Home of Gin; the capital’s first dedicated gin distillery visitor centre.The Home of Gin will welcome gin enthusiasts for the first time on 22nd May, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about the colourful history of London gin and be amongst the first in the world to own Beefeater’s new expression, Beefeater London Garden gin, which has been developed by Master Distiller, Desmond Payne.
Beefeater London: The Home of Gin takes visitors on an interactive journey through key moments in the history of London gin with visits to the cobbled Victorian street markets of Covent Garden and secret prohibition watering holes.
Visitors will also learn about the gin production process as they see, touch and smell the botanicals used to create Beefeater’s range of gins.
Desmond Payne, Beefeater’s master distiller, said:

Beefeater London: The Home of Gin is the capital’s first dedicated gin distillery visitor centre and is housed at the Kennington distillery which has been the home of Beefeater since 1958.
Available exclusively at the Beefeater London: The Home of Gin, Beefeater London Garden gin, 40% ABV, combines flowering herb lemon verbena and thyme with the signature citrus notes of Beefeater.
Master Distiller Desmond Payne has taken inspiration for this new gin from the London Chelsea Physic Gardens, which are located around the corner from founder James Burrough’s original distillery in Chelsea.
He said: “I’ve often been drawn to these wonderful gardens for inspiration, and this exclusive edition is the outcome of a few indulgent taste experiments.
“I’d like to think that Mr. Burrough would have approved.
