Patagonia's cherry producing and exporting sector has grown steadily. It contributes nearly 70% of the total national cherry exports, more than 40% of which come from the provinces of Neuquen and Rio Negro. In recent years, the Patagonia has become Argentina's main producer and exporter of cherries and well known for the high level of technology it implements in crops and packaging, as well as for its fruit's quality.
In this context, and with the startup of new projects, expectations are that the northern Patagonia will export up to 7,000 tons of cherries by 2018.
The International Cherry Symposium- Neuquen 2014, which is organized by the Centre PyME - ADENEU and the Federal Council of Investments, will take place on October 2 and 3.
Various aspects related to the markets' behaviours and trends will be discussed in this year's edition. The Symposium will allow the producers and exporters to learn about the new technological innovations (mobile platforms for field management, new drive systems, new cultivars standing grafts), the latest in agricultural management, and everything required to optimize the profitability and competitiveness of the sector, within an environment designed to establish contacts and generate business.
