Coca-Cola is celebrating its position as Official FIFA Partner of the World Cup by giving away up to one million limited edition branded footballs in the run-up to the tournament.
The move is designed to encourage consumers to get active and is being supported with TV advertising.
The “Win a Ball” on-pack promotion features on 1.25-litre, 1.75-litre and six-, eight- and 12-can multi-packs of Coca-Cola and Coke Zero.
To be in with a chance of winning, consumers need to enter a unique code from a promotional pack at www.winaball.co.uk.
For every valid entry, Coca-Cola will donate 10p to StreetGames, a charity that brings doorstep sports to young people in disadvantaged communities across the UK.
The promotion will run until 13 July and will be supported by a marketing campaign focused on “the power of football and how one ball can inspire people everywhere to move”, said Nick Canney, vice-president of sales and marketing.
The campaign includes TV, digital, poster and print advertising, as well as POS materials and in-store support for retailers.
Coke has also introduced World Cup-themed packs on its 330ml and 500ml Coca-Cola and Coke Zero packs to drive consumer awareness of the brands’ association with the tournament.
