With warmer, sunniHancockser weather on the horizon, confectionery wholesaler Hancocks has launched its new limited edition summer range.

This year top selling old favourites return and new ideas are launched.

Summer themed confectionery can offer high margins for smaller retailers and a strong point of difference.

It can suit retailers in holiday locations as well as stores that welcome more day trippers and treats for the kids over the summer holidays.

Mallow is always an easy confectionery product to sell over the summer, when sugar confectionery generally sees some strong results.

2013 was the year of the Mallow Sandwich – an overnight success at Hancocks.

This year we see the return of the sandwich in addition to a Mallow Pizza and also a Mallow Kebab.

Lollies and pops are always in high demand over the summer and Hancocks offer a creative range from 10p RRP including: various sizes of Rock Lolly, Garden Critters Pops, a Football Lolly (new for 2014) and a Giant Gummy Bear on a Stick (new for 2014).

A wide variety of Jelly Bean Canes, Guns and Windmills is on offer, coupled with summer tubs of Popcorn and Candy Floss and a value range of Nougat Bars (new for 2014).

Also stocking soft drinks throughout the year, Hancocks has expanded its range for the summer season to include impulse products such as Mr Freeze and Vimto Pyramids in addition to a wide range of general soft drinks and children’s cup drinks.

Jonathan Summerley, Hancocks purchasing director said:

“Summer is becoming an additional season for confectionery and proactive retailers will take full advantage of the opportunity that it provides.

“Whether families are just out for the day or on holiday, they are much more inclined to purchase a fun treat for the kids and with school holidays looming fast, summer loving children are quick to spend their pocket money on something sweet to keep them entertained.

“New and fresh ideas will add interest to your range whilst some of our old favourites are tremendous money-spinners that can help to get more cash in your till during the warmer months.”
