Glenfiddich unveils new Father’s Day gift collection

Prestige gift tins have been developed to showcase the core range; 12 Year Old, 14 Year Old and 15 Year Old in specialist off-trade stores and contain a gift tag for the bottle and a branded sticker which can be applied during gift wrapping.

Glenfiddich has also re-introduced the faux leather wrapped gift tins for grocery stores to support the off-trade during a key period for whisky sales.

The gift tins will be supported by a heavyweight digital campaign which involves shoppers being able to click through to a Whisky Gift Guide from the Glenfiddich website, curated by renowned blogger Alwynne Gwilt, also known as ‘Miss Whisky’.

The Gift Guide has been specifically designed to help shoppers navigate the range and make the right choice for purchase.

At gifting periods it is often the shopper who is unfamiliar with the single malt category and therefore requires further reassurance and information when purchasing gifts for whisky enthusiasts.

The Family Collection pack is a new addition to the range and leads with copper colours, displaying the three 5cl Glenfiddich variants more prominently than past packs.

Tasting notes and information on Glenfiddich’s history are also featured on the packaging to drive consumer awareness of the brand’s rich heritage.

Senior Brand Manager at First Drinks, Sarah Harding, said:

“Whisky accounts for over half of all spirits gift purchases so Father’s Day presents the perfect opportunity for retailers to boost sales by stocking quality, eye-catching gift packs that add value.

“The Family Collection pack is a vital addition to our gifting range as smaller variants of a premium brand introduce new drinkers into the category and encourage trade all year.

“Not all shoppers want to pay a premium when purchasing a gift, but nearly all are looking for quality, so it is important to offer products across various price points.

“Glenfiddich has been family run since 1887 and is the World’s Most Awarded Single Malt Whisky making it the ideal option for loved ones on Father’s Day, and the gifting options will ensure Glenfiddich is well represented during this key sales period and beyond.”

The faux leather gift tins will be available to off-trade grocery retailers including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons from early June.

The Family Collection, which is available across all off-trade channels has an RSP of £14.69.

The RSP of the core range is as follows: 12 Year Old, £35.99, 14 Year Old, 37.99 and 15 Year Old, £39.99.
