Single malt Scotch whisky makers Glenfiddich have created a limited edition expression which will tour the UK as part of the company's support for military charity Walking With The Wounded.
The cask of 29 year old single malk whisky is called Spirit of a Nation. At each location it is displayed people will be invited to write messages of support for Team Glenfiddich, the UK team which the company is sponsoring in an Antarctic race to raise funds for the charity.
The cask will travel to York, Aldershot, Cardiff and Inverness at free events that members of the public can attend.
The Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge will see teams of wounded servicemen and women from the UK, alongside their team-mate and the expedition’s Royal Patron, Prince Harry, take on their American and Commonwealth counterparts in a race across Antarctica.
The four events in the UK will combine an inspirational talk by a wounded serviceman or woman and a whisky tasting, suitable for experts and beginners alike.
After its UK tour, the signed cask will return to the to Glenfiddich distillery in the Scottish Highlands, where its contents will be bottled. Glenfiddich will officially release the limited edition Spirit of a Nation expression in the UK in time for Christmas.
