US-based Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery has introduced a new range of blended wine - Sunflake Wines, to its existing portfolio.
Made with Minnesota grapes such as Marquette, Frontenac and LaCrescent, Sunflake Wines' inaugural offerings include a 2013 Moscato and 2013 Riesling.
According to the company, as Moscato grapes produce a low acid wine, they are ideal for the high acid wines that Minnesota wineries are able to produce.
Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery winemaker Justin Osborne said that since the last few years, the company has been working to transform what Minnesota wineries are capable of by turning University of Minnesota bred grapes into premium wines.
"With Sunflake, I want to reflect within the wine what makes our region and grapes so unique," added Osborne.
The new Sunflake Wines range is available in liquor stores beginning this week and will also be available in restaurants.
