Due to few sizeable advertisem lettuceents in the food trade and the shortened selling week, consumers in Germany bought noticeably less head lettuce in week 24 compared to week 23. Sales prices, which rose by an average of 5 cents per head, could have played a role in this, according to the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI).

On the other hand, when it comes to supply, the situation remained manageable. The harvest amount in the German cultivation remained relatively modest and was sold without problems, and the prices remained the same.

There were also no large changes on the German market in week 25. However, the heat wave during Pentecost and bad weather have left their traces on the plants and lead to a mediocre development of the supply in most areas. There are areas, mainly in the south of Germany, where large amounts are slowly being harvested again. This is leading to a slight decrease in the prices there. The demand in southern Germany is also slightly smaller. However, on the whole, this will not lead to the relatively stable market situation turning around.
