As reported by market participants, Russian traders currently prefer not to revise the price of Poland's apple production, referring to the very inactive commercial and supply activities.
Polish apples in the large Russian wholesale reach prices of between 26 and 32 Roubles/kg (0,73-0,90 $/kg) depending on variety and quality; on average, they are 15% cheaper than in the second half of June 2013. At the same time, traders note that the product's quality has deteriorated due to prolonged storage.
Traders point out that the supply of Polish apples to Russia continues to be carried out because of previously signed contracts, and most of the imported volumes correspond to the Idared variety.
