Core Tip: Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has announced the winning ideas submitted to its recycling challenge aimed at helping improve at-home recycling rates
In partnership with oCoca-Colapen innovation platform, OpenIDEO.com, the project was looking for ideas which showcased original thinking, practical sense, and real applicability.

Eight ideas have been selected by CCE, OpenIDEO and the challenge’s Expert Advisory Panel which included representatives from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Forum for the Future, WRAP, FostPlus and Casin.

The ideas ranged from ‘Bottles for Smiles’ – a one-for-one donation program where consumer recycling efforts would help fuel an energy program for communities without access to the electricity grid, to ‘R-Blocks’ – a customisable recycling bin concept for the home.

From a packaging angle there was ‘How Do I Recycle This’ – a mobile app that allows the end user to find out if a package is recyclable and where they can recycle it.

Full details of the implementation are availale through Impact Phase on OpenIDEO.com.
