American hypermarket chain Meijer has awarded the design-build contract to CME for the new $100m fluid milk processing plant in Tipp City, Ohio.
The company has broken ground on the plant in June 2014, as part of its expansion project to boost its manufacturing capabilities.
To be located near 1.7 million square foot Meijer Distribution Center, the proposed facility will be spread over an area of around 113,000ft².
The plant will have a capacity to produce 30 million gallons of Meijer-branded milks, other drinks, as well as organic milk, cottage cheese, sour cream and Greek yogurt.
It will make its products available to 100 stores in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.
The scope of the contract also includes the development of a new 81,000ft² cooler and a waste water treatment facility.
Meijer operates 207 super centers and grocery stores in the Midwest.
