Britain's wheat imports rose to 182,219 tonnes in May, with Germany and Denmark the most important suppliers, customs data showed on Wednesday.
The monthly total was the highest since October 2013, with Germany shipping 73,891 tonnes, Denmark 47,313 tonnes and Canada 28,842 tonnes, the data showed. Maize imports totalled 198,554 tonnes, slightly below the average monthly total for the current season of 206,921 tonnes but above April's 157,336 tonnes.
