FrieslandCampina Hungary has officially opened a new production facility in Mátészalka for the production of Mia desserts and Milli cream products.
This expansion creates approximately fifty new jobs in the region while also securing domestic production for the longer term. The new facility was officially opened by Róbert Zsigó, State Secretary for Food Chain Supervision.
Back in December 2012, FrieslandCampina announced plans to close its underutilised Debrecen plant. At the same time, it initiated a restructuring of the logistics organisation as well as the expansion of the Mátészalka plant, where the production of quark and yoghurt desserts as well as cream and butter-based spreads is centralised. Both are higher added-value product categories in which FrieslandCampina Hungary is market leader.
The goal of the restructuring is to create an efficient production chain that offers support for the growth and product portfolio of FrieslandCampina in Hungary.
