UK-based chocolate bars firm The Grown Up Chocolate Company (GUCC) has signed a supply agreement with fine food wholesaler and distributor Hider Foods Imports.

As part of the agreement, Hider will list the entire range of chocolate bars, selection boxes and hampers of GUCC, alongside other luxury brands, including Hazer Baba Turkish Delight, Border Biscuits, Green & Black's, Lindt and Tyrrell's.

GUCC product is already sold across the UK by Fortnum & Mason, as well as Booths and some 300 independent shops and delis.

In April 2014, GUCC has invested £350,000 in a new kitchen and packaging facility in Harlow, North London to meet the increasing demand.

The new kitchen is capable of producing 5.4 million chocolate bars per annum at its peak capacity.

GUCC founder and CEO James Ecclestone said: "We're proud Hider has taken our products into its range and look forward to a long-term trading relationship. Hider has a distinguished reputation and offers us an established, high quality route to market and an enviable customer base that fits our target audience perfectly.

"Our new Harlow facility will allow us to take on significant volume through thousands of independent customers or a number of major volume customers."

Hider Foods joint managing director Mike Thirkettle said, "We are delighted to be chosen as a preferred distributor partner for The Grown Up Chocolate Company and are looking forward to presenting the range to our deli, farm shop, garden centre and department store accounts with the primary aim of getting as much exposure for the brand as possible.

"Early feedback indicates a positive customer response to this innovative range."
