The Brewers AssoAmerican craft brewerciation (BA), the trade association representing majority of small and independent American craft brewers has reported 18% rise in production during first half of this year.

According to the data, the amount of beer sold during the first half of this year increased to 10.6 million barrels from nine million barrels during the same period in 2013.

Brewers Association chief economist Bart Watson said that the sustained double-digit growth of the craft category shows the solidity of demand for fuller flavored beer in a variety of styles from small and independent American producers.

"Craft brewers are providing world-class, innovative products that continue to excite beer lovers and energize the industry," added Watson.

Of the 3,040 breweries operating in the US, around 99% of them are small and independent craft breweries.

Around 1,929 breweries are being planned to set up.

Craft brewers currently employ nearly 110,273 full-time and part-time workers, many of which are manufacturing jobs.
