Farm produce prices in China rose slightly during the week of 11-17 August according to a survey of production in 36 large and medium-sized cities by the Ministry of Commerce.

The prices of meat rose, with the prices of pork, beef and lamb up 2.1 per cent, 0.2 per cent and 0.3 per cent respectively compared with the previous week.

The prices of poultry and eggs continued to rise, with the price of eggs up two per cent and chicken up 0.3 per cent.

The average wholesale price of 18 vegetables rallied, up 1.5 per cent week on week, among which the prices of green beans, white radish and onion led the gains, up 10.2 per cent, 4.4 per cent and 4.2 per cent respectively.

The price of rice rose by 0.2 per cent compared with the previous week and the price of flour remained the same.

The price of edible oil fell steadily, with the prices of rape oil and soybean oil down 0.6 per cent and 0.2 per cent respectively week on week. Peanut oil was the same as the previous week.

The average wholesale price of aquatic products fell 0.1 per cent, with the prices of crucian, large yellow croaker, and grass carp down 0.4 per cent, 0.2 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively week on week.
