US-based establishment United Salad is recalling Champ's Sliced Crimini Mushrooms as they may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.
The move comes after the company's supplier Champ's Mushrooms recalled affected sliced Crimini mushrooms in Canada.
The recalled product is 8oz Champ's Mushrooms Sliced Crimini Mushrooms with UPC code 6 78286 88877 5.
Produced in Canada, the recalled product was distributed to retailers and supermarkets in Oregon and Washington from 13 June through 14 June.
The company is urging retail stores to remove any affected products from sale.
Consumption of the products contaminated with listeria may cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
No illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products.
Consumers who have bought the recalled product are advised not to consume it and instead destroy or discard it.
