US-based establishment Raymond-Hadley is recalling Phoebe Mote Blanco White Corn Semoule De Mais Blanc as it may contain sulfites which is not mentioned on the packaging, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.

The products subject to recall include 14oz Phoebe Mote Blanco White Corn Semoule De Mais Blanc, 50lb Phoebe Mote Pelado Blanco, 54oz Phoebe Mote Pelado Blanco and 4lb Phoebe Mote Blanco Peeled White Corn.

These recalled products were sold to various US states including New York, Virginia, California, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Washington D.C.

The recall was initiated after it was found that Phoebe Mote Blanco White Corn Semoule De Mais Blanc contains sulfites which is not mentioned on the label, during a routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel.

Consumption of 10mg of sulfites per serving may cause severe reactions in some asthmatics and anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals.

No illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products.

Consumers who have bought the recalled products are advised to return them to the place of purchase.
