Global manufacturer of flavors and colors Flavorchem Corporation is launching a new line of Non-GMO Project Verified flavors.
The new flavors will join the existing line that includes cocoa, coffee, lime, orange, peppermint, and lemon.
The Non-GMO Project is a North American non-profit organisation, which provides third party certification and labeling for non-GMO products in the food and beverage industry. They, presently, have over 30,000 Non-GMO Project Verified products from 2,260 brands.
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are organisms whose genetics are artificially modified using genetic engineering (GE).
Flavorchem marketing manager Edward McIntosh said: "Flavorchem always takes a proactive approach by introducing new non-GMO ingredients, as the demand for health and wellness products expands into all segments of the food and beverage industry."
Flavorchem's services include flavor and color creation and development along with masking and sweetener technologies. The company encourages its clients to take part in the development process to augment successful outcomes.
Earlier this year, the company acquired a flavor production facility in Kerepes, Hungary, to expand the production of its liquid, powdered and spray-dried products.
These products are used by baking, beverage, confectionery and nutraceutical companies. The Kerepes production facility holds a BRC Grade A and ISO9001:2008 certifications for demonstrating commitment to quality and food safety.
