As Christmas approaches food events for next year are being announced, including a second International Food Design Conference and other food and wine experiences.
Otago Polytechnic's Food Design Institute has announced it will host the second International Food Design Conference and Studio in late June 2016.
Conference convener Prof Richard Mitchell said the three-day event would celebrate "The Human Touch'', recognising the stories and influence of people who grow, manufacture and prepare food.
He is hoping to attract international food and design professionals to the event which, like last year, would feature keynote addresses and hands-on workshops.
Early in the new year, Feast Wanaka, led by Dunedin's Nicola McConnell, is organising a pop-up restaurant, bringing Auckland chef Nick Honeyman's restaurant Le Petit Leon to Wanaka for four nights from January 10-13.
Feast Wanaka also includes the Central Otago Cellar Door afternoon of wine tasting on January 13.
