Fruit and vegetable producers will have access to new markets thanks to negotiations on phytosanitary barriers with many countries. Potato plants will be able to be sent to the Dominican Republic and Israel, apples to Vietnam. Phytosanitary certificates have been approved by these countries.
Negotiations are still underway for other products (fruit plants, vegetable seeds, apples, kiwis, potatoes, shallots) in order to expand outlets in numerous other destinations such as South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan.
In November, FranceAgriMer animated a seminary in Italy on France’s phytosanitary knowledge and quality in potato plants. They also organised, alongside professional’s from the sector and services in the Ministry, a project in Vietnam in December aiming to present France’s fruit and vegetable offer. The Vietnamese market will open to French kiwis and potato plants in 2016.
