Tea Trails, an emerging tea cafe chain in the country, launched its first cafe with tea-infused food menu in Mumbai at Kala Ghoda on Thursday. The cafe offers a curated range of finest teas from around the world along with suitable tea accompaniments, justifying the theory of tea pairing.
Uday Mathur, co-founder, Tea Trails, said, "Tea is the brew of choice of art lovers. With the launch of Kala Ghoda cafe, total number of outlets operation under Tea Trails brand has now reached in double digit i.e at 10, which is a milestone for us. We serve around 80 offerings of teas from hot to cold, white, greens, oolong and black, handpicked from the best tea garden of India and around the globe, we also serve a vast range of tea-infused food and we hope people will enjoy our curated cuisine.” The menu includes Burmese tea salad, tea marbled eggs, and tea infused Thai bowl.
He added, "India is second-largest tea consuming market in the world and there is lack of organised tea cafe operators in our country. Tea Trails aspires to cater to this latent demand and be the category creator with vast franchisee network. Large part of our expansion strategy is based on franchise network development.”
“In 2013, we started our first outlet in Thane and at present there are eight outlets in Mumbai. Some more outlets are slated to be launched in coming months that includes Chennai, Delhi and Pune. In the next five years we are planing to come up with 500 outlets around India. We are also starting with home delivery, where tea will be delivered to home, offices etc. Education is very important, customers come to know about latest trends in tea. We also provide the customers with sampling and we try to get feedback from them. We also conducted workshops."
Last month the company forayed in south India with its first cafe in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills. That also marked the brand's first outlet outside the Mumbai metro region.
