The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture reported that the country's fresh produce exports so far since the start of 2016 amount to 411,492 tonnes of fruit and 174,274 tonnes of vegetables.
Meanwhile, Egypt's vegetable imports stood at 1,372 tonnes and the total volume of fruit imported reached 70,710 tonnes.
The report also highlighted that the country's plans for the implementation of good practices in agriculture are still underway. These are meant to expand Egypt's agricultural exports overseas and thereby increase the returns of foreign exchange to be able to meet the country's import needs.
