TeamLease, a staffing major, sees demand for fresh and experienced candidates in agriculture sector, which covers food processing andhospitality industries, on an upswing in the coming months.

According to the company, agriculture and agrochemicals clock up salary growth rates upwards of 11 per cent across multiple cities. Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai are prominent on the scale of high increments, noted TeamLease Job Primer for 2016-17. The Union government’s budgetary outlay of Rs 48,000 croreis an 84 per cent increase in 2016-17 and a bigboost to the agriculture sector.

In the hospitality sector, thedemand is on an upswing, which isdriven by foreign tourist arrivals growing by 7.1 per cent over the past 10 years. There is an acute shortage of quality of talent and theindustry is investing in identifying and rewarding right-fit talent. “The payouts are getting better, increments exceeding the double-digit levels in Delhi and Mumbai,” stated Kunal Sen, senior VP, TeamLease Services, in an email to F&B News.

The salaries in the blue collar domain see a steep rise for select profiles, with employers wanting to reward and retain specialised skills. Power and energy (electrician, supervisor) and hospitality (gym instructor, housekeeping) are cases where blue collar job profiles have garnered lofty salary increments this year. The report indicates pantry staffto earn Rs 14,000-16,000 per month, gym instructor to be paid Rs 15,000-19,000per month, gardening staff to be paid Rs 11,000-15,000per month, housekeeping to earnRs 12,500-18,000per month. “Now theseroles are more lucrative than blue collar jobs in other sectors,” stated Sen.

The openings foroperations head, QSR (quick service restaurant), associate professor (food production) and income audit supervisor are witnessing considerable traction. Now operations head, QSR, is still in infancy stage in India with explosive growths expected in the future. Associate professor (food production)is in demand going by thechanging diets and food production techniques vital to reducing the ill-effects of biodiversity loss and climate change. “Furthermore, associate professor (food production) are being hired by larger hospitality businesses for in-house training. Income audit supervisor is to ensurehigher levels of financial compliance expected in future,” he added.

“We also see a growth in jobs for executive search consultant and specially abled staff in this sector. There is also a demand forSpanish tour consultant. This is because Spanish is on its way to become one of India’s favoured foreign languages on account of increasing trade and tourism with Spain and Latin America. Moreover, it is easier for consultants to learn compared to German, French or Mandarin. The Delhi Spanish Institute enrols more Spanish students than anywhere else in the world,” he said.

Another growing opportunity is for food and beverages manager going by the number of hotels on increase. In fact F&B alone contributes to 40% of revenues for hospitality sector.
