Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Expo 2016(APA Expo), a 3 day event being held from 26th May to the 28th May 2016, is the only professional trade show that involves the whole aquaculture industry chains. This year’s expo along with the 11th China International (Xiamen) Seafood Expo was cosponsored by China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance, Fujian Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance, China Great Wall International Exhibition Co., Ltd and Xiamen Sino-Show Century Business Exhibition Co., Ltd, and hosted at Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center (XICEC) in Xiamen, China.
Officials from the Fisheries Bureau of Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China, Fujian Provincial Department of Ocean and Fishery, China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and many other foreign government groups and international friends attended the expo opening ceremony.
Cui He, the vice president of China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance, stated that present Chinese aquaculture industry faced the challenge and opportunity of transformation and upgrading, and aquatic farming pattern would change, including transformation into ecological farming model and industrialization model. With regard to this, Chinese aquaculture should positively communicate with outside and introduce foreign advanced equipment and facilities to transform the traditional farming model as soon as possible. Besides the expo, the global aquaculture forum, sustainable aquaculture and trading seminar and other relative activities would place a platform to further promote “one belt, one road” initiative with the aim to attract investment into Asia-Pacific, even global, aquaculture, and develop new industrial driving force.
It’s known that the expo is the shortcut for aquaculture enterprises to obtain new products and acquire new relative technology. China International (Xiamen, Fujian) Seafood Expo is also dedicated to serve aquatic products processing and marketing, a plat form to promote deep processing and full development of marketing of aquatic products. The two simultaneous expos are aimed to strengthen fishery supply side reform and build the important bridge and link for industrial communication, cooperation and development between Chinese, Asia-Pacific and the global fishery.
As many as more than 200 enterprises attended the expo, which were from 15 countries, including America, Norway, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Malaysia and so on, and 20 more provinces including Liaoning, Jangsu, Shandong, Hebei, Zhejiang and so on. The exhibits involved the whole aquaculture industry chain, including fry, feed, fish health product, new farming technology and model. Besides, domestic and overseas high-quality processed aquatic products, packaged products, logistics and trading could also be found at the show. Domestic leading aquatic product enterprises, including Zhangzidao, Hengxing, Yuehai, Liyang, Qinghai Minze, Jinglu Fishery, Dalian Tianzheng, Wuhan Gaolong, Jiangsu Dayouheng etc. all participated in the display. National shellfish industrial and technological system, China Catfish Institute, Henan Fisheries Association were among the professional groups and associations who also showed up in the carnival. New emerging aquaculture countries like South Africa, Morocco, Myanmar and Malaysia also made their debut on the expo with their own projects.
During the expo, global aquaculture forum, China (global) aquatic product summit forum, the 2nd Dayouheng global frozen aquatic product industry convention, E-cold chain logistics charity training class, national agricultural technological entrepreneurial innovation ally forum, aquaculture enterprise transformation and upgrading under New Normal-capital operation, BAP shellfish new standards first press conference in China, cross-strait abalone product promotion, and fresh foods e-commerce experience museum are the activities to be launched.
