From the last week of May to mid November Verschuren has all sizes of broccoli available. In total around 950 tonnes, or 150,000 colli. They are traded through The Greenery. “Our broccoli is mainly sold on the domestic market, but for the general price formation we are mostly dependent on the demand from abroad. The summer holidays can be a good time for broccoli sales. The weather is of great influence, we’re not delighted with 30 degrees,” says Peter.
"All in all we see a rising demand and have good expectations for the coming time. The prices are at a reasonably level, although of course we always like them higher. Before the season started the prospects for June were good and bad for July, but the way it is looking now the month of July could be even better than June,” concludes Peter.
