Notice of CFDA about severely striking illegal activities of selling beef and mutton containing “clenbuterol”
CFDA notified that clenbuterol was detected in beef and mutton (including offal products of beef and mutton) sold in some regional markets, supermarkets, stores and restaurants during supervision & sampling inspection and special monitoring recently. In order to further standardize sales of beef and mutton, severely strike illegal activities of selling beef and mutton containing “clenbuterol” and practically guarantee quality & safety of beef and mutton, CFDA raised 4 work requirements as follows: (I) Supervising and urging enterprises to strictly implement main responsibilities of food safety; (II) Further strengthening intensity for supervision and sampling inspection; (III) Severely striking illegal activities; (IV) Strengthening information notification.
