On November 5, the second sweet potato festival was opened near Rizhao city in Shandong province. The event was in three sections: First is the competition for the largest sweet potato, then there is the competition for peeling the sweet potato and third is the competition for preparing it in the Nanhu local fashion. Among these, the competition for the largest sweet potato draws the most attention of the public. After a fierce competition, Zhang Shanzong from Kanjia Chengzi village in Nanhu won with a single banana sweet potato that weighs a staggering 33.75 kg.
